F2 Sur Mac Excel

Well, F2 on the Mac changes the screen brightness on MacBooks, but when you are in Excel, you want F2 to be brightness and F4 to be change cell references from absolute and so forth. With the F8-F12 this isn’t an issue, you can unmap those to get to F9 which is recalc by just changing System Preferences/Keyboard & Mouse/Keyboard Shortcuts and unmapping F9. Confused yet?

I simply need to use the fnkey, in combination with F1, F2, F3keys. Reason: F keys (Function-keys) are primarily assigned on a Mac for Volume, Brightness, Keyboard-Illumination etc., therefore 'fn' enables the secondary assigned functions of those keys in Ubuntu.
Switchers (Windows to Mac Converts). It's been a while since I used my Windows machine, but I think I used to click the 'F2' button to edit a Windows Excel cell.

On the PC, you can edit the current cell in place by simply pressing F2. On the Mac, the equivalent keyboard shortcut is Control-U, as F2 is assigned to cut the contents of the current cell. (If youâ€™d like to see all of Excelâ€™s keyboard shortcuts, open Help -> Excel Help, then type keyboard shortcuts in the search box, and then select Excel Keyboard Shortcuts in the results box. Youâ€™ll probably find quite a few that you didnâ€™t know about.) After many years of using a PC in my prior job, I found the Control-U shortcut not only hard to remember, but harder to type. Unfortunately, you wonâ€™t find the â€œedit this cellâ€ command listed in Excelâ€™s keyboard customization section, so thereâ€™s no apparent way to change the shortcut. With a bit of help from a third-party program, though, you can achieve the same end resultâ€”make F2 edit the current cell in Excel (2004 or 2008) on the Mac.

F2 Sur Mac Excel

It's been a while since I used my Windows machine, but I think I used to click the 'F2' button to edit a Windows Excel cell. Would someone please tell me how to do that in Apple's version of Excel. Currently, I find myself having to click my mouse on the entry window at the top of the screen. Also, how do I anchor cells, for instance $A$15? In Windows, I could scroll through the F4 key, but cannot figure out how to do that on the iMac. Finally, is there a key I can push to highlight all the linked cells in an Excel formula. Again, I currently have to click on the formula bar at the top of the screen.
